May 24, 2021: UPDATE
The staff at DCR have addressed the water issue at markers 13/18 in Willowdale. There was beaver activity there causing the water to overflow the trail. They removed the branches from the trail and the water level went down. It appears that the beavers have left the area as the water is still low today so the trail is back open to everyone. We will continue to watch it and would appreciate it if you would as well. Many eyes make for safe trails!
May 20, 2021:
We were recently notified that there is a water issue in Willowdale by the juncture of markers 13/18. It seems the beavers have been busy and because of the high water level, there is quite a flow of water over the trail. It is about 10″ deep. Please avoid this area if possible. Especially if you are on a horse. The Park is working to fix this quickly but they may need to permit a beaver deceiver and schedule the work. It could potentially take 4 – 5 weeks to do this. We will keep you posted. Thank you very much for your cooperation and happy trails!
