Over the last several weeks, ECTA has completed extensive trail work near the Asbury Street Parking Area of Bradley Palmer. Using $6000 of ECTA money to match a $30,000 grant from the Mass Department of Conservation and Recreation, ECTA has installed a culvert, and raised and reinforced the causeway leading south from the parking area, leaving the pond to the left. We have also re-engineered that trail continuing up the hill paralleling Asbury Street. In addition, we have raised and reinforced the heavily used trail leading east from the parking area, leaving a pond to the right. These trails were very high priority for ECTA as they both get heavy use by walkers, bikers and equestrians. We thank the DCR for helping to fund these projects through their Recreational Trails Grant Program.
