On Saturday morning, September 26, about 20 volunteers showed up to recalim a lost trail off of Sagamore Street in Hamilton. It was a crisp beautiful morning as we set out with loppers, hand saws, weed whackers and muscle to clear an old farm road that had not had any attention for years. The result is a beautiful trail up the hill through the woods, leading to a myriad of wooded trails that then lead up to Sagamore Hill or down to the Donovans Soccer Fields, past the Air Force installation and Massasoit’s grave. Many thanks to all who showed up to keep our trail network clear, and special thanks to the landowner, Windover Properties who has agreed to place a trail easement on the property. The nearly 40 acre property is for sale, and would make a beautiful horse farm with a vast network of trails surrounding it.
